Working with flowers is a dream we don't take for granted. But the arranging isn't what gives us purpose. It's watching what those flowers mean to the people carrying them.
Flowers show up at every important turn in a life. An engagement. A pregnancy. A first birthday. A wedding day. A retirement. A goodbye to someone who spent their whole life giving us wisdom. We've been trusted with all of it, and every time, we're reminded this was never really about the flowers.
"The truth is, the people are our why."
It started in my kitchen, with holiday centerpieces made for our own family's table. Somewhere along the way, that grew into a full-service studio, still home-based, still run with the same care I'd want in my own home.
Weddings are where my heart lives most. Every bride carries a story into that first conversation, and I hold onto it. The way she laughs. The color she lights up at. The person she's becoming.
It finds its way into her bouquet, a little at a time. Nothing pulled off a shelf. Something that's actually hers.
My daughters feel this the same way I do. They've been in this with me from the very beginning, not because they decided to help, but because it was always ours. They're the ones who named it Florecitas.
Somewhere between all of us hauling buckets before sunrise and staying up too late fixing a boutonniere for the third time, I stopped being able to call it a side project.
This was ours. It deserved to be real.
Florecitas is what happens when you stop keeping something you love in the background of your life, and my daughters and I get to build it, together, for the families in the place we call home.
